Who are we?

Cam and Lauren are best friends who met working in the industry, and have managed and worked side-by-side for years. collectively, they share many clients together, as well as a vision for a tattoo studio of their own.

Why “the confessional”?

Tattooing is a vulnerable experience, and often brings out conversations that our clients feel safe sharing with us. Work-life, relationships, and secret stories that our clients don’t feel comfortable sharing with anyone- often find a space in our chairs. These experiences have made us feel very connected to our craft, and have brought us many clients that make them feel safe in our work place. We have built our success from creating an unforgettable experience from the tattoos to our conversations, this is why we felt “The Confessional” is the perfect name for our business.

What about the industry?

The tattoo industry has been rapidly growing in the last 10 years, and continues to flourish with niche styles and experiences. Women in this industry often find themselves having a sisterhood among other female artists, and create safe-spaces for tattooing, like we aim to do as well. Though tattooing still faces stereotypes, and fears intimidation among some opinions, The Confessional finds it important to prove this wrong. We aim to help work towards changing the negative biases of our industry, by creating a safe, welcoming space for all.
